PROVO, Utah — Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old accused of assassinating conservative commentator Charlie Kirk, was formally charged Tuesday with aggravated murder, a capital offense that could carry the death penalty if he is convicted.
Utah County prosecutors filed the charges less than a week after Kirk was shot dead on September 10 while speaking to students at Utah Valley University in Orem.
