Let’s be honest, do you want all of your news to be tilted only to one side of the aisle or would you prefer to get the facts from all sides of an opinion and discern for yourself, which fits your ideals best?
Everyone is hearing more and more about how biased the mainstream media is, but what does that really even mean. What part of our citizenry makes up the readers and viewers of those “mainstream” media outlets?
The public is increasingly looking for unbiased news and different perspectives to get the full story – the real story, and not that has been weighted with heavy biased conservative or liberal views.
The average news reader can probably make an educated guess that Fox News and Breitbart are right-leaning sources. However, the reality is that neither produces the most-detailed or best-researched (and unbiased) news articles even among conservative sites. Ditto that for CNN or MSNBC news sources for all things left leaning. If you polled thousands of people from all across the United States and asked them to rate either of those two news sources as either left leaning, right leaning or centrist, the vast majority of people in the know, would tell you that they are left leaning. However, if you consider yourself to be ultra-liberal, you will probably claim there are news sources that you prefer more.
More and more people these days rate themselves as being more centrist – even if they are not. However, ask most centrist minded people where they prefer to get their news and they may share news sources such as Wall Street Journal, while tons of centrists will also claim it is the most distrusted saying that WSJ is biased both to the left and the right. (They can’t win, right?)
The BBC News is labeled as centrist by a lot of people. However, respondents to a Pew survey rated BBC as one of the most trusted AND untrusted news sources.
We could go on and on.
Conclusion
The truth is, the only way to gain access to truly, unbiased news sources to give your readership to a source that simply publishes the news as it is presented from as many alternative sources and views as possible.
