Deep Look: Trump Hosts GOP Dinner in Newly Paved ‘Rose Garden Club’

WASHINGTONPresident Donald Trump unveiled his latest White House renovation Friday night, hosting roughly 100 Republican lawmakers for dinner in the newly paved Rose Garden, which he has rebranded as the “Rose Garden Club.”

Holding a microphone as he addressed the group — mostly House Republicans with a few GOP senators — Trump praised their support for his legislative agenda and declared the space a new hub for political and diplomatic gatherings.

“We call it the Rose Garden Club,” Trump said. “It’s a club for senators, for congresspeople, for people in Washington, and frankly, people that can bring peace and success to our country.”

Tech Executives Miss Out on First Use

Trump revealed that he originally intended the first dinner in the Rose Garden Club to be with Silicon Valley leaders he hosted the previous evening, including Microsoft cofounder Bill Gates, Apple CEO Tim Cook, and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

That plan was abandoned when rain forced the dinner indoors. Trump quipped:

“I had the high-tech guys here, and they didn’t want to have rain on top of their beautiful heads.”

Mar-a-Lago Influence on White House Grounds

The redesign is part of Trump’s broader effort to remake the White House grounds to reflect his personal brand. The traditional grass lawn of the Rose Garden has been paved over and fitted with tables, chairs, and umbrellas in a setup that strikingly resembles the outdoor layout at Mar-a-Lago, his private club in Palm Beach, Florida.

Critics say the renovation strips the Rose Garden of its historic character, while supporters view it as a practical modernization for hosting high-profile events. For Trump, the transformation adds a personal touch of luxury and exclusivity to a symbolic presidential space.
