Deep Look

Virginia Giuffre’s Memoir Surpasses One Million Sales, Renewing Scrutiny of Epstein Scandal and Prince Andrew

NEW YORKNobody’s Girl, the posthumous memoir by Virginia Roberts Giuffre, one of Jeffrey Epstein’s most prominent accusers, has sold more than 1 million copies worldwide just two months after its October release, publisher Alfred A. Knopf confirmed on Tuesday.

The book’s powerful impact was immediate, with more than half of its sales coming from North America. In the United States alone, the memoir has gone into its 10th printing, after debuting with an initial run of 70,000 copies. Giuffre’s personal account, co-authored with journalist Amy Wallace, offers an unflinching look at her life, survival, and efforts to expose Epstein and his associates.

A Bittersweet Legacy

Giuffre tragically died by suicide in April 2025 at the age of 41, just months before the publication of her memoir. Her family, including siblings Sky Roberts and Danny Wilson, issued a heartfelt statement following the book’s success:

“This is a bittersweet moment for us. We are enormously proud of our sister, and the impact she continues to have on the world. We’re also filled with so much sorrow that she couldn’t be here to witness the impact of her words. In her absence, our family remains committed to ensuring her voice is everlasting.”

Book Sparks Fresh Criticism of Prince Andrew

The release of Nobody’s Girl reignited global interest in Prince Andrew, whom Giuffre alleged had sex with her when she was 17 — a claim Andrew has consistently denied. Though he was not charged criminally, the civil lawsuit she filed in New York concluded in 2022 with a multimillion-dollar settlement. While Andrew did not admit to wrongdoing, the agreement acknowledged Giuffre’s suffering as a survivor of sex trafficking.

Following the renewed public pressure caused by the memoir’s success, King Charles III took decisive action — stripping Prince Andrew of his remaining royal titles and evicting him from his royal residence.

This wasn’t the first consequence Andrew faced. In November 2019, he stepped down from his royal duties after a widely criticized BBC interview, where he attempted to discredit Giuffre’s allegations but ended up facing widespread backlash for his perceived lack of empathy and accountability.

Increased Pressure on the U.S. Justice Department

The publication of Giuffre’s memoir has also brought renewed attention to the U.S. Department of Justice’s sealed files on Epstein. Advocates, survivors, and lawmakers alike are calling for transparency and accountability, particularly as new revelations emerge.

Giuffre’s memoir includes emotional detail about her experiences with Epstein and how his influence extended into powerful circles — reinforcing widespread concerns that many individuals tied to his crimes have yet to face justice.

The call for disclosure has grown louder, especially given that Jeffrey Epstein died by suicide in 2019 in a New York jail while awaiting trial for sex trafficking charges.

Book Industry and Cultural Impact

Nobody’s Girl is proving to be not only a commercial success but also a cultural flashpoint, drawing attention back to one of the most high-profile sex trafficking cases in recent history.

According to publishing insiders, the memoir’s sales trajectory is extraordinary for a nonfiction title and particularly rare for a posthumous release. Analysts cite the enduring public interest in the Epstein case, Giuffre’s personal credibility as a survivor, and the book’s raw emotional narrative as key factors driving demand.

Beyond its commercial performance, the memoir is fueling discussions about survivor justice, the abuse of power, and the need for systemic reform in how victims are heard — and protected.
