CHICAGO (AP) — A drive-by shooting in Chicago late Wednesday left four people dead and 14 others wounded after gunfire erupted outside a restaurant and lounge in the city’s River North neighborhood, authorities said.
Police said someone in a vehicle opened fire into a crowd gathered outside the venue, which several media outlets reported had hosted an album release party for a rapper. The vehicle sped away immediately after the shooting.
No arrests had been made as of Thursday morning, police said.
The victims ranged in age from 21 to 32 and included 13 women and five men, according to preliminary information. Two men and two women were among the fatalities.
Nine victims, including the two women who died, were transported to Northwestern Hospital. Five others, including the two deceased men, were taken to John H. Stroger Hospital. Police said at least three people remained in critical condition.
The investigation is ongoing.
