Deep Look: Epstein Emails Claim Trump Knew About Underage Victims, White House Denies Allegations

WASHINGTONHouse Democrats on Wednesday released a set of newly obtained Jeffrey Epstein emails that they say raise troubling new questions about President Donald Trump’s connection to Epstein’s sex trafficking network. The emails, written by Epstein in 2011 and 2019, allege that Trump spent time with one of Epstein’s victims and was aware of underage girls in his circle.

The messages come from a trove of 23,000 documents turned over by Epstein’s estate to the House Oversight Committee. Their release reignites long-standing speculation about Trump’s relationship with Epstein, which Trump has repeatedly downplayed, claiming he severed ties with the financier long before his 2019 arrest.

Key Email Claims About Trump and Epstein

In an April 2, 2011, email to his associate and former girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein wrote:

“I want you to realize that that dog that hasn’t barked is Trump. [Redacted name] spent hours at my house with him… he has never once been mentioned.”

Maxwell replied the same day:

“I have been thinking about that.”

House Democrats said the redacted individual was a victim of Epstein’s sex trafficking ring, later identifying her as Virginia Giuffre, one of Epstein’s most well-known accusers.

In a separate email sent in 2019 to journalist Michael Wolff, Epstein allegedly wrote:

“Of course he [Trump] knew about the girls as he asked Ghislaine to stop.”

These claims directly contradict Trump’s past statements in which he denied knowing about Epstein’s criminal conduct. He has also stated publicly that he banned Epstein from Mar-a-Lago for inappropriate behavior toward women.

White House Pushes Back, Citing Giuffre’s Defense of Trump

In response to the document release, Trump’s press secretary Karoline Leavitt issued a strong rebuke, accusing Democrats of trying to “create a fake narrative to smear President Trump” through selective leaks.

Leavitt emphasized that Giuffre herself had previously said that Trump was never involved in Epstein’s abuse:

“She repeatedly said President Trump was not involved in any wrongdoing whatsoever and ‘couldn’t have been friendlier’ to her in their limited interactions.”

The White House also pointed out that Trump’s history with Epstein ended badly:

“President Trump kicked Jeffrey Epstein out of his club decades ago for being a creep to his female employees, including Giuffre,” the statement said.

Leavitt characterized the allegations as a “hoax and distraction” designed to shift attention from Trump’s policy record and the recent reopening of the government.

Who Was Virginia Giuffre?

Virginia Giuffre, a key figure in the Epstein saga, had previously accused Britain’s Prince Andrew and others of abusing her when she was a teenager. In civil court filings, she said she was recruited at age 17 while working at Mar-a-Lago in 2000.

Giuffre’s allegations became central to public understanding of Epstein’s trafficking network. While Prince Andrew settled her lawsuit without admitting guilt, Trump was not a defendant in any of her legal actions. She died by suicide in April 2025.

Background: Epstein, Maxwell, and a Long Shadow

Jeffrey Epstein, once a wealthy financier with elite connections, was arrested in 2019 on federal sex trafficking charges. He died by suicide in a Manhattan jail cell later that year, awaiting trial.

Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s longtime confidante, was later convicted of conspiring to traffic underage girls for Epstein and is currently serving a 20-year sentence in a minimum-security prison camp in Texas. She was recently transferred from Florida after being interviewed by Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche.

Maxwell’s attorneys continue to claim her innocence and say she was unfairly prosecuted for Epstein’s crimes. Her name has appeared repeatedly in emails and court documents suggesting close coordination with Epstein in recruiting and grooming victims.
