Deep Look: Trump Floods Christmas Day with Truth Social Attacks and 2020 Election Doubts

PALM BEACH, Fla. — Christmas Day at Mar-a-Lago began on a festive note for former President Donald Trump, who took part in NORAD’s Santa tracker calls with children and exchanged pleasantries with reporters. But the holiday spirit quickly took a political turn. Before sunrise, Trump had posted or reposted over 100 messages on Truth Social, his preferred platform, sparking headlines and controversy.

His feed became a mix of partisan grievances, election denial, attacks on Democratic figures, and boasts about his presidency, all wrapped in his signature bombastic style. For Trump, it was another example of turning a public holiday into a platform for political messaging and loyalist engagement.

Election Denial Resurfaces

More than four years after his 2020 loss to President Joe Biden, Trump remains fixated on the election results. In a series of reposts, he amplified calls for former President Barack Obama to be prosecuted and supported Georgia State Senator Colton Moore’s claim that the election was “stolen.”

“People need to be arrested and tried for treason — a lot of them,” Moore said in a video Trump reposted.

No credible evidence has emerged to suggest widespread voter fraud in 2020, yet Trump has repeatedly stated his desire for a special prosecutor to investigate.

Attacks on Political Rivals

Trump’s Truth Social onslaught was aimed at familiar foes. He shared inflammatory posts about:

  • Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN): Trump reposted a video questioning her citizenship, adding, “Throw her out of the U.S., Now!”
  • House Speaker Nancy Pelosi: He reposted a post accusing her of insider trading, with no evidence, and suggested imprisonment.
  • Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA): Trump shared an image labeling him a socialist, fueling speculation around the 2028 Democratic primary.

Trump also resurrected his longstanding disdain for the Affordable Care Act, supporting posts calling for its repeal — even as millions of Americans await legislative action to prevent premium hikes.

Economic Boasts and Reality

Despite facing criticism on inflation and cost-of-living issues, Trump used Christmas morning to highlight a Fox News segment crediting his economic policies with 4.3% GDP growth in Q3. He continued promoting his record, hoping to reassure voters skeptical of his ability to bring relief on everyday costs like groceries and utilities.

Still, polling indicates a decline in support among working-class and middle-income voters, even as he courts them with economic messaging.

Foreign Policy and Nobel Prize Aspirations

In one video, Secretary of State Marco Rubio touted Trump’s alleged success in preventing global conflicts — including halting a supposed India-Pakistan war and mediating between Cambodia and Thailand. The latter claim came despite recent reports of 86 deaths in border skirmishes following an agreed ceasefire.

These claims underpin Trump’s ongoing campaign for the Nobel Peace Prize, set to be awarded in 2026. While past presidents like Obama have received the honor, Trump continues to frame his diplomatic efforts as underappreciated.

The Epstein Files and Conspiracy Rhetoric

In a jarring holiday message, Trump referenced the controversial billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, whose death in federal custody has sparked countless conspiracy theories. Trump, who signed legislation compelling the DOJ to release its Epstein records, posted:

“Merry Christmas to all, including the many Sleazebags who loved Jeffrey Epstein.”

The remark drew criticism for injecting dark and conspiratorial tones into a traditional Christmas greeting.

Truth Social: Trump’s Digital Megaphone

With over 11 million followers, Truth Social has become Trump’s central communication channel — bypassing mainstream media and rallying his base. The volume and intensity of his holiday posts highlight how he uses the platform for:

  • Shaping political narratives
  • Attacking opponents
  • Boosting personal legacy claims
  • Testing campaign messaging for 2026 and beyond

Whether he personally posted each message or delegated the task remains unclear. The White House did not respond to questions about the origin of the posts.
