NEW YORK — Cardi B, Steph Curry, Dwayne Johnson, Justin Bieber and even a viral campaign involving Sydney Sweeney’s bathwater are among the nominees for the 2026 Webby Awards, marking the 30th anniversary of the honors recognizing the best in internet culture, digital media and online creativity.

The International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences announced this year’s nominees from more than 13,000 entries spanning over 70 countries. The awards recognize achievements across multiple categories including podcasts, video, social media campaigns, AI, advertising, mobile apps and online entertainment.

Winners will be announced April 21, with a ceremony scheduled for May 11 in New York hosted by “The Daily Show” correspondent Josh Johnson.

Celebrities and Viral Campaigns Dominate Nominations

Cardi B earned two nominations for her creative rollout of the album “Am I The Drama?”, which included a promotional stunt in Harlem where she sold copies of the album along with incense.

NBA star Steph Curry also earned a nomination for a viral billboard campaign in Los Angeles that appeared to show him shooting the moon — an image that spread widely online.

Other major celebrity nominees include:

  • Dwayne Johnson for a surprise visit to a Georgia high school football team
  • Justin Bieber for livestreaming his Coachella preparations
  • Kendall Jenner for her humorous Super Bowl betting advertisement
  • Sydney Sweeney for a viral soap made from her bathwater

Sweeney’s campaign will compete in the best viral PR category against Jenner’s campaign.

Tech Giants Lead Nominations

Major technology and media companies dominated the nomination count:

  • Google — 46 nominations
  • PBS — 29 nominations
  • Apple — 23 nominations
  • Walt Disney Company — 23 nominations
  • NBCUniversal — 22 nominations
  • Netflix — 22 nominations

These organizations produced a wide range of digital campaigns and content across multiple categories.

Strange and Viral Campaigns Gain Attention

Several unconventional marketing campaigns also earned recognition:

Language-learning app Duolingo also earned nominations for its viral campaign involving the staged “death” of its owl mascot, Duo. The campaign drew millions of reactions and even prompted singer Dua Lipa to post, “Til’ death duo part.”

Music and Entertainment Nominations

Music video nominees include:

Lady Gaga also earned a nomination for a fan engagement campaign surrounding her album “Mayhem.”

Podcasts and Social Media Content Recognized

Podcast nominations include major personalities:

  • Amy Poehler — “Good Hang”
  • Katie Couric — “Next Question”
  • Monica Lewinsky — “Reclaiming”
  • Keke Palmer — “Baby, This is Keke Palmer”
  • Mel Robbins Podcast

Sports podcasts nominated include:

  • “New Heights” with Jason and Travis Kelce
  • “7PM in Brooklyn” with Carmelo Anthony
  • “All the Smoke”
  • “Pablo Torre Finds Out”

Influencers and Viral Moments

Food creator Nick DiGiovanni earned two nominations, including a viral cooking video featuring MrBeast that received over 71 million views.

  • Selena Gomez short film with Benny Blanco
  • Blackpink’s Lisa Nike campaign
  • “Stranger Things” scavenger hunt promotion

Public Voting Open

In addition to academy-selected winners, fans worldwide can vote for the Webby People’s Voice Award through April 16.

The Webby Awards continue to highlight how internet culture shapes entertainment, marketing and media — with celebrities, influencers and brands competing for recognition in the digital age.
