Deep Look: Trump Attacks Conservative Media Allies Over Iran War Criticism

President Donald Trump sharply criticized several prominent conservative media figures, escalating tensions within his political base over the ongoing conflict with Iran.

In a series of social media posts, Trump targeted Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly, Candace Owens, and Alex Jones — all influential voices within conservative media who have recently criticized his handling of the war. The president dismissed the group as “losers,” “low IQ,” and “nut jobs,” accusing them of undermining his leadership and misrepresenting his policies.

“They’re losers, just trying to latch on to MAGA,” Trump wrote, adding, “They’re stupid people, they know it, their families know it, and everyone else knows it, too.”

Trump also delivered personal attacks against each figure individually. He suggested Carlson “should see a good psychiatrist,” labeled Owens “crazy,” accused Jones of saying “some of the dumbest things,” and criticized Kelly for past questioning about his comments regarding comedian Rosie O’Donnell.

The criticism reflects growing divisions within Trump’s political coalition, particularly following U.S. military actions against Iran — a move some conservative commentators argue contradicts Trump’s long-standing pledge to avoid new foreign conflicts.

Tucker Carlson, a former Fox News host, has recently intensified criticism of the Iran war. He called on U.S. military officials to reject any plans that could result in civilian casualties in Iran, warning against escalation.

Candace Owens also strongly criticized the administration, calling the Trump administration’s actions “satanic” and urging Congress to consider removing Trump from office.

Megyn Kelly expressed frustration on her podcast, criticizing Trump’s rhetoric and warning against threats to “wipe out an entire civilization.”

Alex Jones went further, suggesting Trump should be removed under the 25th Amendment and accusing the administration of abandoning its campaign promises.

The responses to Trump’s criticism were swift.

Owens posted a screenshot of Trump’s comments on social media, writing, “It may be time to put Grandpa up in a home.”

Jones also fired back, claiming Trump had been influenced by foreign policy advisers and warning that the Iran conflict risks dividing conservative voters.

Former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, another longtime Trump ally, also criticized the president’s stance, calling the Iran conflict a broken campaign promise and expressing support for the conservative commentators Trump attacked.

The disagreement underscores a widening divide within the MAGA movement. Trump’s critics argue that military action against Iran contradicts his campaign messaging centered on avoiding new wars in the Middle East.

Trump rejected that argument, saying his position remains aligned with core MAGA principles. He argued that preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons is essential to U.S. national security.

“MAGA is about WINNING and STRENGTH in not allowing Iran to have Nuclear Weapons,” Trump wrote. “MAGA is about MAKING AMERICA GREAT AGAIN.”

Trump also indicated he no longer intends to communicate with some of the critics, signaling a deeper rift with figures who previously supported his political rise.

The dispute highlights the challenges Trump faces balancing foreign policy decisions with expectations from his political base. As tensions over the Iran conflict continue, divisions within conservative media and Republican supporters may play an increasingly significant role in shaping political dynamics ahead of upcoming elections.
