Deep Look: Airstrikes Hit Iran As Missiles Target Israel And Gulf States Amid Diplomacy Push

Airstrikes battered Iran on Tuesday while Iranian missiles and drones targeted Israel and Gulf states, escalating the conflict even as diplomatic efforts to end the war gathered pace.

President Donald Trump said the United States is engaged in talks with Iran, but Tehran denied negotiations were underway and vowed to continue fighting. Meanwhile, thousands of U.S. Marines were deployed to the Persian Gulf as tensions rose across the region.

The war’s intensity remained high after Trump delayed his deadline for Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial global shipping route. Iran’s control over the waterway has disrupted international trade, pushed fuel prices higher and raised concerns about the global economy.

Pakistan offered to host negotiations, but Iran responded with defiant statements, saying its forces would continue fighting until “complete victory.”

Pakistan Pushes Diplomatic Effort

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said his country is prepared to host talks aimed at ending the conflict. Officials from Pakistan and regional partners said the United States had agreed in principle to participate, though Iran had yet to accept.

Diplomatic sources said efforts were focused on building trust between Washington and Tehran, halting attacks on energy infrastructure and reopening the Strait of Hormuz.

Iranian officials, however, rejected reports of negotiations. Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf described the reports as “fake news,” while military leaders vowed to continue operations.

Missiles Hit Israel And Region

Iran launched at least 10 waves of missiles at Israel, injuring civilians and damaging buildings. In southern Israel, a man was seriously injured while a woman and infant suffered minor injuries.

In Tel Aviv, a missile struck a city street, blowing out windows and injuring several people.

Iran also targeted Gulf nations. A Moroccan civilian contractor working with the United Arab Emirates armed forces was killed in Bahrain during an Iranian attack. Saudi Arabia said it intercepted drones aimed at its eastern oil-producing region, while Kuwait reported power outages after debris damaged electrical lines.

Israel Strikes Iran And Lebanon

Israel said it conducted strikes on Iranian production sites, though it did not provide details. Explosions were reported in northern and central Tehran.

Israeli forces also struck Beirut’s southern suburbs, targeting infrastructure linked to Hezbollah. Lebanese officials reported several deaths, including a young child, and additional casualties in southern Lebanon.

Lebanon later expelled Iran’s ambassador and banned Iranian flights, citing concerns about weapons shipments to Hezbollah.

Growing Casualties

The conflict has taken a heavy toll. Iran’s death toll has surpassed 1,500 people, according to Iranian officials. Israeli authorities reported 15 deaths from Iranian strikes. More than 1,000 people have been killed in Lebanon, with over 1 million displaced.

At least 13 U.S. service members have also been killed, along with civilians in Gulf countries and the occupied West Bank.

US Marines Head To Region

Thousands of U.S. Marines are heading to the Persian Gulf, raising speculation about possible operations targeting Iran’s Kharg Island, a key hub for Iranian oil exports.

Iran has warned it could mine the Gulf if U.S. troops attempt a landing.

Trump has said he will delay planned strikes on Iran’s power plants while talks continue, though analysts suggest the pause may also allow time for additional military deployments.

While Trump has said he does not plan to deploy ground forces, he has not ruled out the possibility. Israeli officials have also suggested ground operations could be considered.

With diplomacy and military escalation unfolding simultaneously, the conflict appears poised at a critical moment, with global markets and regional stability hanging in the balance.
