CNN Founder Ted Turner, A Television Pioneer, Has Died at Age 87/ Newslooks/ WASHINGTON/ J. Mansour/ Morning Edition/ Ted Turner, the visionary founder of CNN, has died at 87. He transformed television news with the launch of 24-hour cable coverage. Turner also built a vast media empire and became a major philanthropist.
